ROSY DISPOSITION BY ROSE BONICA

The perfect blend of naïve creative freedom, what some may call a “natural” but combined with a strict regimen of productivity or a process of creativity that can only be likened to a weapons factory in times of War.

In 2016 Rose Bonica delved into music, mentored by her label partner Big Space, she set out to become a full time producer in the time of DJ’s and cholera. Her first release on the Wet Dreams Recordings compilation “Work Not Hype” had her amongst heavyweights such as Altered Natives, Jumping Back Slash and Big Space.

“Rosy Disposition is my tendency for optimism knowing that it will lead to disappointment. I realised I need to be objective and think beyond my own perspective. When I am disappointment or when I make a mistake in life the responsibility should not land on anyone but myself. It’s easy to forget this when we live in a world where everything is about ourselves. This is my catharsis (cause music emotions feels obvs).” – Rose Bonica.

“Rosy Disposition is an introduction to one of Cape Town’s freshest sounding producers.”  – Themba Kriger, Red Bull

“With a brazen approach to music production, they are bringing leftfield dance music to the country’s music environment, in small, obscure portions—much to the delight of the hungry electronic music fans in SA…this EP has become one of the most intriguing bodies of work to have come out of South Africa this year.” – Kaelem Fakier, Pulse Radio
